In a culture so fuelled by consuming content, how do we create a community of collaboration?
+Jennifer Shaw is the Founder of +NYTechWomen, a 3,000+ member organization focused on the personal and professional success of women in the technology industry, where she proved that an all-women environment can foster collaboration and help women gain power, making unprecedented career strides.
Not only has Jenn helped these women to foster collaboration within their own community but they are now working together to bring what they’ve learned to women in rural areas through +Bella Minds.
We will host a LIVE Google Hangout at 2pm EST NY-USA (find your local time here http://ht.ly/jjG3U) on Friday, November 8, and you are invited!
Part of what we’ll be discussing:
Q1) Why is it important to contribute to collaboration?
Q2) How do you bring a community of leaders together in collaboration?
Q3) What can you do differently to encourage more collaboration in your community?
Q4) Why is social collaboration so important?
Q5) What are the other benefits of collaboration important to any business community?
Join us this week as +Tim McDonald will be hosting the Hangout with special guest +Jennifer Shaw. +Sherrie Rohde and +Sarah Mordis will be moderating the Twitter chat #cmgrhangout.
Don’t forget to confirm you are attending and be on the lookout for a G+ notification about 1:55pm is you want to join the hangout (if we have room).
Want to participate on Twitter? Watch here or on YouTube and use #cmgrhangout when tweeting.
Let’s discuss ways you can attend.
Watch: You do NOT need to join the hangout. Just stay on the Google+ Event and you’ll see the video on YouTube (don’t worry, it will be there and start playing as soon as the broadcast begins)
Talk and Be Seen: If you decide you want to talk, not just watch, click to join the hangout when we post the link here or when you see the notification. (we will only invite a few people for this event, so let us know why you would like to attend) Do NOT click the link to join the hangout if you are just here to watch.
Chat: You can watch here and/or follow the conversation on Twitter using #cmgrhangout
Why are we asking you to follow these instructions? Many think they need to join the hangout just to listen in. This takes up a seat from someone who wants to actually talk and be seen and participate in the hangout. So please be considerate to everyone and remember, just because you don’t see the video yet, does not mean it won’t be there. It will.
Any questions? Just let us know. Please don’t wait until 2pm EST to ask questions. We’re busy getting the hangout ready, inviting you to join and posting the YouTube video so everyone can participate the way the want to when we go live.
Look forward to having you join us in the capacity of your choice!
If you join us on the hangout, a wired internet connection is preferred and if you have a headset with mic or earbuds, that works best for the audio. You will also need a working webcam.
